Brand Onboard

Graffiti represents one of the earliest forms of expression and personal “brand,” so the exposed cement columns in our urban office became the canvases for a local street artist, bringing the flavor of our website into our daily environment.

Joanne Connelly

Joanne Connelly

President & CEO

The President, CEO and spiritual leader of the team, Joanne is a former journalist and marketing executive who founded ConnellyWorks with the belief that agencies should bring more to the table than a few good ideas and a poorly written press release. More than 11 years later, she’s built ConnellyWorks into a leading marketing communications firm known for its outstanding PR, innovative marketing and effective events. Prior to ConnellyWorks, Joanne spent most of her career as a Washington, DC-based reporter and editor for a range of publications. She also held senior-level positions in industry, helping technology companies tell their stories in the government space. 

AJ Guenther

AJ Guenther

Director of Public Relations

A.J. has been helping clients tell their stories to the media for more than 15 years. As the Director of Public Relations, A.J. brings his strong track record of driving tangible results to ensure the ConnellyWorks PR team always remains at the top of its game. A.J. also is actively involved in the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), and has served on the DC Chapter Board. Prior to joining the ConnellyWorks team (as the first official full-time employee), A.J. worked with another communications agency as well as 1105 Media Group.

A development and events professional with deep and broad relationships across both the public and private sectors. Trusted point of contact for influential leaders across more than 400 federal contracting companies and every Cabinet level federal organization. Skilled in learning and development, relationship building, event management, and corporate fundraising.

James Hanson

James Hanson

Managing Director

As the Managing Director, James spearheads the day-to-day operations and business development efforts for ConnellyWorks. He is focused on development and improvement of services and processes across the organization, ensuring our clients have the best possible experience with the team. Prior to his current role, James served as the Director of Events for ConnellyWorks, where he led events of all sizes across the federal and defense markets. James also spent six years at Army Times, serving in a number of roles, continually increasing revenue. In his younger life, James was serving drinks at a local watering hole, where he learned some of the best networking tips to date.

John Monroe

John Monroe

Director, Brand and Content Strategy

John has been a close observer of the public sector market for nearly 25 years. As a reporter and editor, he tracked how government agencies acquired, deployed and managed IT—and how IT has reshaped how they managed operations and delivered services. He has served as editor of leading magazines and websites covering the federal government, state and local government, the defense IT community and public sector health IT. More recently, John was the Custom Editorial Director for the 1105 Public Sector Media Group, where he worked with clients to develop custom content strategies to help position them as thought-leaders in the government IT community. Today, John plays a key part in developing multi-channel marketing and content strategy for ConnellyWorks clients.

 

Jamie Lien

Jamie Lien

Director, Executive Events

As Director of executive and special events, Jamie provides strategic planning, project management and marketing support across ConnellyWorks’ corporate events clients as well as galas with a particular focus on audience development and retention. Her experience in events management and delivery includes attendee relations, sponsor acquisition, speaker outreach and on-site delivery. Jamie also serves as the account manager for AFCEA Washington, DC, a local chapter of AFCEA International focused delivery forums to the Armed Services, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and intelligence agencies and the industry that support them.  Jamie joined the team in June 2014, after graduating from Virginia Tech in 2013, and brings experience from previous assignments in an Army public affairs office and internship on Capitol Hill.

Brian Domenici

Brian Domenici

Creative Director

Brian is an established design and marketing professional with more than 10 years of creative experience in the Federal Consulting market. Currently, as the Creative Director at ConnellyWorks, he provides a wide range of marketing and design support to the PR and Event lines of business.  Brian also handles the creative strategy, brand development, and design needs that enables various CWI to communicate clearly and effectively.  Prior to joining the CWI team, Brian spent 9 years as the Lead Designer for two different federal consulting companies, where he was responsible for all aspects of the internal and external development and management of the brand.

Bob Suda

Bob Suda

Chief Financial Officer

Bob brings his breadth of knowledge from his career in public service, including serving as the Associate Administrator and Director of the Department of Transportation’s John Volpe National Transportation System Center, the Associate Chief Information Officer for Integration and Operations for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of IT Solutions within the Federal Technology Services of the General Services Administration. Bob is a busy guy. He also serves as the President and CEO of Suda and Associates, and independent contracting firm providing strategic advice on government initiatives to contractors on financial, procurement and IT challenges.
